"Notes & Quotes" by Ministry of Echology has to be the Album of the Year in Lithuania

As the Spring breezes continue to be replaced by an occasional fog and oh-so-lithuanian greyer backgrounds to the landscape, there are rays of light that may not necessarily come from behind the moody clowds. Instead, this may well happen from the very within of your own headphones.

Last weekend in Klaipėda has been a thrilling one for a music afficionado stuck in this mellow harbor town. The lovely Giedrė returned to town with her jazzy interpretations of the excellent solo album "Optinė Apgaulė" which she introduced last year in Kaštonas music venue to the full-house ovations. The Saturday concert finished just in time for people to catch a touch of one of the warmier evenings while passing by Meridianas to get to even the bigger surprise of the night - Ministry of Echology was in town. Yes way!

An article by the multi-talented-himself Domantas Razauskas gives a sincere review of the finally-presented debut album "Notes & Quotes", which is a bomb of hope in the ressurection of Lithuanian grande ensembles. Although all in lithuanian, it does include several studio-like track links, so do check it out in the link above.

The Vilnius-based band rocked the Saturday event with a series of new and some rather known pieces that can be noted as exceptional for their length (most going over seven minutes) and polished composition between all eleven band-members. Check out the album, if you are lucky to find a copy!

People were fighting for them ;)
