Kayaking in Lithuania: 758 Rivers to Enjoy

Although the summerish heat showed up briefly and dissappeared again by June, there are days when the clowdy start ends well. In Lithuania, even a clowdy weekend provides an opportunity to find yourself in a different environment after a few short hours of convenient driving.

Braided through with 758 rivers and over 4,000 rivulets, the country offers a great variety of choices to have a blast if you give a go to kayaking. All that you need is to pick a river you'd want to explore, search for a nearby kayak-renting office and agree on a day when you want to explore the nature in the most peaceful drift of your week.

The cool part about kayaking is that it will always remind you of how little one needs to completely relax. Choose from a campout experience lasting few days to just a span of several hours that can take you home before noon on any day, and that's pretty much it.

One can begin exploring with the map of rivers and selecting what fits the plans best. It is recommended to arrive with 3 sets of clothing - a light one to be worn in the kayak (good idea to take a wind-breaker jacket) together with shoes you are not afraid to see in the water. A second set of similar clothing together with a towel should be secured in a hermetic bag (some kayak rentals are kind enough to offer theirs as part of the deal, or you can always get one at a local supermarket). The third set of clothing, including everything long-sleeved and dry will finish up the experience with warmth and protected health.

All of the kayak rentals offer taking you to the start of your journey and will pick you up bringing everyone back to their car or camping location. A trip that one will want to repeat next week, oh yes indeed.
