Biking in Lithuania

Enjoy the excellent routes

Biking conditions in Lithuania are perfect
The Lithuanian landscape should be considered super-friendly by any biking fans - while most of the territory is flat, you will also find quite a few hills for a friendly challenge. There are hundreds of kilometers of great roads right through parks and streets filled with beautiful trees.

Estrada Bike Road to the Sea in Klaipėda

A popular ride in Klaipėda, consists of going from Vasaros Estrada to Olandų Kepurė, a bikers-only well-lit road of about 18km (11 miles). On your way, you will pass several small stops where one can rest, before reaching the end of a popular weekend attraction for many amateur bikers.

Olandų Kepurė - a mesmerizing spot for nature lovers

If this ever gets boring, you have another possibility to ride through a preserved by UNESCO piece of landscape, the Coronian Spit, after taking a 20 min ferry ride.

Your journey would start in Klaipėda, in any of the two ferry stations, with several bike-renting places nearby. After reaching Smiltynė, you have a great view of the harbor and the ship-building factories behind, while ahead lay about 50 km of excellent mostly biker-only paths to Nida, through a year-round green forest. The road spreads between two dunes that protect you from the winds and provide cooling air pockets during the ride in the summer months.

One of the stops is a fishermen town of Juodkrantė, a great location for a nice break if you are not in a hurry. Boats return twice during the day carrying the catch, while those on the shore put all their experience into making some of the best fish you can taste.

Spin as far as reaching Nida, the relaxing and enjoyable resort town 50km (30 miles) away from the start point of your day. There are various places available for short and long time stay, in case you want to enjoy more of the easy-going, coast-line located town atmosphere.

Catching the evening spaceship back to Klaipėda
A return back to Klaipėda is also great, as you can enjoy the changing colors of the city's surface while waiting for the last ferry from Smiltynė. You will consider doing the same thing tommorrow again, guaranteed.
