Travel to Lithuania

Visiting the belly button of Europe is easy

While traveling presents a range of unique experiences, planning your trip can be just as exciting. Among the different approaches that can make your quest for adventure a great vacation memory, consider visiting the center of Europe, and the beautiful country taking good care of that special spot.

Depending on your initial location, you can arrive by bus, train, boat, airplane or air baloon (see Vilnius photo). You can also leave in several creative ways, in case the romance with that hot colleague you decided to visit goes sour.

Here are some details on the fastest of the options

3 International Airports - Palanga, Kaunas, Vilnius

Palanga is a cosy airport the size of a decent three-bedroom apartment, making it impossible to get lost and usually you check out in no more than 20 minutes.

Klaipėda - a town 15 miles away from the Palanga airport

Upon arrival to one of the oldest resorts of Lithuania, you can stay in several hotels within the area, or look for ways to head to Klaipėda, located 25 km (15 miles) from the airport, which is also the only port in case you decide to take a ferry or a cruise.

Kaunas - the second largest city in Lithuania

Arriving to Kaunas will be the cheaper option, while the size of the airport is to remain an easy walk. If you choose to land at the Karmėlava airport of Kaunas, expect to spend additional 30 mins to get to the second largest city in Lithuania by taxi or a regular bus.

Vilnius

Choosing to fly to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, you will land within the city limits, making a taxi ride the easiest of the options to reach your place of stay.

Each one of the airport hosting locations is unique, with some great history and no less interesting present.
