Kaštonas - the new venue in Klaipėda delivers good sound weekly

"Kaštonas", found in the heart of Klaipėda,  is a long overdue food & music place in town, a venue that specialises in serving meals until late six days of the week (rest on Sunday) and is open for the longest lunch menu hours in town (11:00 to 16:00). You are to be served a bowl of  soup and a platter of your choice, all made in home-like conditions. The crew in this unique location works heartfuly in the kitchen, but also bake well behind the decks with the mission to introduce only the best sound in Klaipėda on the weekends as well as the weekdays.

Saturday the 16th of March was a great evening, with the cosy atmosphere created by the legendary lithuanian instrumentalist Andrius Kulikauskas, a major force of creativity in the last forthy or so years of lithuanian music.

Maestro Andrius began the evening with a brief introduction of an upcoming singer, Justė Kazakevičiūtė, who performed several of her songs while playing an accoustic guitar.

Her satin voice lurred the audience into silent stage of appreciation instantly. The young artist is currently being curated by the lithuanian multi-instrumentalist who was very keen to give a truthful performance himself afterwards.

Although some occasionaly complain that Klaipėda has turned into a mellow town ideal for quiet biking lovers, Kaštonas serves as a refreshing breath of air in the social atmosphere of this lovely romantic town on the coastline of Lithuania.
